About MLCS

SPOTLIGHTING THOSE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE MISS-LOU!

The Miss-Lou Champions Spotlight highlights people and charitable organizations in the Miss-Lou who are currently doing or have done, amazing things to contribute to our community. We are here to shine the spotlight on those who deserve it.

Our interview series is designed to learn more about the accomplishments and contributions of these great people, but it is also created to get to know more about these CHAMPIONS on a personal level.

Our hope is that our Champion Spotlight will encourage many others to be a point of light in this world.

We are honored to announce that Nathan Gaude is the first ever Miss-Lou Champions Spotlight Champion of the Month.

For the past four years, our mission has been to spotlight people who make the Miss-Lou stronger through character, effort, and impact. Beginning this January, we are expanding that mission by recognizing one individual all month long. That means you will see and hear more from Nathan throughout January as we share his story and celebrate what he represents.

Nathan is one of the most genuine, loving people you will meet, and he consistently sets an example of what it looks like to show up with joy and determination. From earning medals in the pool through Special Olympics to taking pride in his work at Johnny’s Pizza in Vidalia, Nathan reminds us that our circumstances do not have to define our potential.

We could not imagine a better choice to launch this new tradition. Please join us as we celebrate Nathan Gaude all month long.

The Natchez Museum of African American Culture and History is one of the community’s most important storytellers, preserving the voices, experiences, and contributions that shaped Natchez and continue to shape who we are today. Through powerful exhibits and locally rooted history, the museum protects stories that deserve to be seen, remembered, and passed on.
